This is a continuation of my post on the Vishwarūpa, Lord's cosmic form.
As an adult, I learned that Śrī Kṛṣṇa revealed the Vishwarūpa to Arjuna on the Kurukshetra battlefield. The wonder returned.
I came across an article that described how Robert Oppenheimer, the “father of the atomic bomb” (in America) had recalled Bhagavad Geeta verses 11-12 & 11-32:
Today, as I comfortably sit in my air-conditioned office browsing the worldwide web, I often wonder at the lord who has gifted us this wondrous, unbelievable world of the Internet as our own divya-chakshu (divine sight) to make us stumble onto his cosmic form as we browse this infinite digital world of images, movies and text?
Arjuna pleads with Krishna in 11-4:
मन्यसे यदि तच्छक्यं मया द्रष्टुमिति प्रभो |
योगेश्वर ततो मे त्वं दर्शयात्मानमव्ययम् ||११-४||
manyase yadi tachchhakyaM mayaa drashhTumiti prabho .
yogeshvara tato me tva.n darshayaatmaanamavyayam.h .. 11-4..
"If you, O Lord, think it possible for me to see It, do You please, then, O Lord of YOGAS, show me Your Imperishable Self-form."
In future posts, I will sample a few glorious views of the Lord's vishwarūpa. We are so fortuate to have access to Flickr, YouTube and several other media that so gloriously reveal the cosmic form of the Lord to our imperfect eyes.
Hari Om and Namaskaar until the next post

“A passage from the Bhagavad-Gita, the sacred epic of the Hindus, flashed into his mind:.
If the radiance of a thousand suns / were to burst into the sky, / that would be like / the splendor of the Mighty One—
Yet, when the sinister and gigantic cloud rose up in the far distance over Point Zero, he was reminded of another line from the same source: I am become Death, the shatterer of worlds.”

1. Quote is from Robert Jungk's "Brighter than a Thousand Suns: A Personal History of the Atomic Scientists". I myself came across this quote through this paper by James Hijiya..
2. Picture shown is "Vishwarupa, A Cosmic Form of Vishnu" from the Asian Curator at the San Diego Museum of Art available on Flickr
